Angus’s Community Wellbeing Centre, The Beacon, is opening in late Spring 2025. Thank you to those who have engaged and supported us in this development so far and we’ve been gathering your frequently asked questions along the way – here’s a short animation to help with some answers.

Below are the frequently asked questions (FAQs) contained within the short animation above.

The Angus Community Wellbeing Centre (CWC) is called The Beacon, which will be opening late Spring 2025.

What will The Beacon be for?

It will be a space which offers a kind, caring, and compassionate place to go, if you are suffering from mental health and emotional distress. The centre will be set up as a homely environment.

What will The Beacon’s opening times be?

From 12 noon – 12 midnight, 7 days a week, which will allow you to access help when you need it most.

How will I access The Beacon?

You will be able to drop into The Beacon in person or by making an appointment.

You will also be able to access support by phone, text, email, or by reaching out to us on social media. Everyone is different so we will help you in any of these ways, to suit your needs.

How will I get there?

Public transport links are available throughout Angus to get you to Arbroath. We may be able to help you to get there if you’re struggling.

Who will The Beacon be for?

Anyone living in Angus, aged 16 and over who is experiencing emotional distress will be welcome. You will be able to attend with your family, including children and/or unpaid carers. You will also be able to access support if you care for someone who is/has experienced emotional distress.

Where will The Beacon be?

The Beacon will be located in Kirk Square, Arbroath, and will be open to everyone, 16 and over, living in Angus.

When will The Beacon open?

The Beacon is opening late Spring 2025. Until then, help and support is still available through a range of Mental Health services. Please visit www.ahscp.scot/services for more information.
