Social Work/Social Care
First Contact is a service for people in Angus aged 16 and older – including elderly people – who need access to, or information about, a community care service. You can contact First Contact either by email FirstContact@angus.gov.uk or by telephone 03452 777 778. It is not for people who already have a care manager, key worker or who already receive a service. If you already receive a community care service you should get in touch with your usual care worker, and they will help you.
Emergency social work enquiries out-with normal working hours are dealt with by the Social Work Out of Hours Service:
- Weekdays: 4.30pm to 9.30am
- Weekends: 4.30pm (Friday) to 9.30am (Monday).
All public holidays are covered on a 24 hour basis. There is an answer machine service if the staff are busy, please leave a message and a member of staff will return your call.
