Angus Health and Social Care Partnership (AHSCP) is a partnership between Angus Council and NHS Tayside. AHSCP works closely with independent and third sector providers, who plan and deliver health and social care services together for Angus. A key priority of the partnership is to make sure that care and support enables people to continue to live in their own homes and communities.

Care at Home
In Angus, care at home services are delivered to around 1500 people per day.
The carers deliver a lifeline which allows vulnerable people to remain in their own homes for longer. From helping people get up in the morning, supporting them with personal care tasks, to using specialist equipment, carers deliver a vital service which enhances the quality of service users’ lives.

Care Homes
There are 29 care homes across Angus and these mainly support older people. Care and support is also provided to residents who are under 65 years of age and to people with learning disabilities.
Care home staff require skills that enable them to provide consistent, person-centred care and support to residents living in a residential care environment. Though working in a care home is demanding, you will find that caring for and supporting others is incredibly interesting and rewarding work that can be the start of a career in health and social care.
Day Care
In Angus we have 9 day care centres – 5 of which are mostly used by older people and 4 for people with disabilities.
Day care centres are community building-based services that provide care and support specifically for older people or people who have a disability.
Day care centre staff help provide a comfortable, safe and socially stimulating environment for their clients. If you have an interest in developing and taking part in activities with people, this could be the job for you.
Supported Housing
Supported housing is accommodation with support to enable some of the most vulnerable people to live as independently as possible in the community.
Staff who work in supported housing look after the well-being of people in their daily lives. They help people living with different physical disabilities and mental health needs to live their lives more independently and support them to reach their potential by providing both physical and emotional support. The role of a support worker is so varied – each person has unique needs, which makes the job unique too.
Enablement and Response
Angus Health and Social Care Partnership’s Enablement and Response Team provides short-term services to encourage people in Angus to live as independently as possible. This is often in situations where people need to be helped to relearn independent living skills after an illness or an accident.

Personal Assistants
Personal assistants usually support individuals in their own home or to go out in the community and live as independently as possible. As a personal assistant you may have to support someone with personal care, companionship etc.
This role is ideal for you if you if you have the ability to work on your own initiative, good listening and communication skills, display flexibility and good time management as well as good interpersonal skills.
You’ll be employed directly by an individual. You can be employed directly by one employer or work for a number of different people.
